PAKISTAN - Tuesday Morning, on 09.00 - 10.30 am, local time, PKPU Relief team, Consists of doctor Amir Zuhdi, MHA (the PKPU Health Manager), Boy Muslim (PKPU rescue team Manager) have had a meeting with Indonesian students in islamabad, they are Istamar Suhadi, Lc. Ayub Rohadi, M.Phil. Abdul Kholiq Saman, BA. And Hilman Hakiem, SP.
This meeting goal is to meet the vision and mission of PKPU relief in Pakistan. The meeting decision is that pkpu needs a partner to realize the relief program in Pakistan, finds the access and helps the work relief.
Finally PKPU decided that the partner is Al Khidmat Foundation, the local big NGO. The cooperation was hoped that PKPU will be easy to relate with other local NGOs, and to know the updated condition of earthquake area and for safety reasons as well.
After Dzuhur, the team was accompanied by one of Al Khidmat Foundation officers, who is going to Rawalpindi, where the Al Khidmat foundation office based. Here the team was discussing about up to date information about the earthquake location, logistic cheek, also the mechanisme of distribution to the earthquake location..
At 16.30 pm local time, it was signed the agreement (MOU) between PKPU and Al Khidmat Foundation. In this case PKPU donated the first part of fund at value of 341,270 rupees and 1,700 US dollars. This fund is the amanah from Indonesia moslems donors via PKPU, the National Humanitarian Foundation.
For logistics, we sent 2 hundreed sacks of rice, with 50 kg for each sack, 1 thousand sack of wheat flour, with 10 kg for each and 400 packs of fried oil. This logistics arranged will be sent on Wednesday and Thursday (20/10/2005) to Balakot, the region was damaged by the earthquake.
On Tuesday night, PKPU team and the earthquake victims were welcomed by the Indonesian ambassador for Pakistan, Mr, Drs. H. Anwar Santoso in Nusantara Room. It was also attended by Diplomatic officer, home and local staff of Indonesian embassy in Pakistan, and Indonesian community and students. (acep/ray/pkpu)
